Some comments from former Hearts full-back Gary Naysmith will only fire Celtic up ahead of Saturday’s Scottish Cup Final between the teams.

Naysmith believes that people are ‘fed up’ with the Hoops regularly winning trophies in Scottish football.

“It sounds as though we’re not giving credit to Celtic for their achievement being on the brink of winning nine trophies out of nine” he said, as reported by the Scotsman.

“Public is now getting fed up”

“But I think the public is now getting fed up of Celtic winning continuous trophies.”
Naysmith does at least admit that perhaps the Hoops aren’t getting enough credit for their consistency. But it isn’t the Hoops’ fault that they have been so much better than the rest in recent years.

Unlikely to be impressed with comments

It is unlikely that Neil Lennon and the players at Celtic will be impressed with the comments. Indeed, they could spur the Hoops on to put on a show in the cup final.

No one at Celtic will be bothered if people are fed up with the Hoops constantly winning trophies. Celtic will only care about making the Hoops supporters happy.
If that means winning the domestic treble on a regular basis, then so be it. Celtic haven’t been at their best for much of this season. However, with the chance to win the ‘treble treble’, you would imagine that the players will be fired up for the game.
Naysmith’s comments could only add to the determination to get the treble won.
