"Good chance"; Ange hints long-term Celtic absentee set for return vs Alloa

Ange Postecoglou has said there’s a ‘good chance’ Christopher Jullien will be involved for Celtic in some capacity against Alloa this evening.

The Bhoys travel to the Scottish League One side to kick off our bid for Scottish Cup glory this term.

Although taking the fixture seriously, the Celtic boss is seeing it as an opportunity for fringe players to get game time, as well as ease in those returning for injury.

Postecoglou has admitted the artificial surface in Alloa is a factor, but reckons Jullien will still be involved, telling The Glasgow Times: “Chris has trained and is available for the match. I haven’t made a decision on the starting line-up yet but there is a good chance he will be involved.

“Of course the pitch is a factor that we have to think about. But in terms of Chris himself, he’s been training well since the restart and doing everything with the team.

“He is obviously not ready to play 90 minutes at the level he wants to, more than anything else, but he will get in over the next few weeks. There is a good chance he will be involved against Alloa.”

Even if just on the substitute’s bench, it’ll be fantastic to see Jullien back in a match squad. It has been nearly 13 months since he last played for the club.

I’m sure it’s been a difficult time for him rehabbing and putting in the hard work to get to this point. Thankfully though, it seems that it will all be worth it.

Postecoglou seems to be a fan of the player and I have no doubt he’ll get plenty of opportunities this season, even if he doesn’t start today.

In other news, Celtic bonus as Cameron Carter-Vickers is not selected for USA duty; available for derby.
