John Kennedy has confirmed that Greg Taylor hasn’t taken part in Celtic training this week and won’t feature for the club away to Dundee United on Sunday.

Taylor had to be substituted off nine minutes into Neil Lennon’s last match in charge of the club against Ross County. He missed last week’s win over Aberdeen at Celtic Park.

Unfortunately, he’s still out, with Kennedy stating in a press conference today [YouTube]: “Greg’s still injured. Obviously, he picked up a thigh injury against Ross County.

“He’s not trained this week, so we’ll still be missing him [for the Dundee United match].”

The injury came just as Taylor looked to be turning a corner in the Celtic team.

He’s been one of our leading assist-creators this season and had cemented a position in the starting eleven ahead of Diego Laxalt.

The Uruguayan is now very likely to start for the Bhoys again this weekend for the match at Tannadice.

On loan from AC Milan, Laxalt did show improvement in the victory over the Dons. He was getting into some excellent positions on the left flank, often closer to the byline than under Lennon.

Hopefully that continues on Tayside.

In other news, Cameron Harper has left Celtic to make a move to Major League Soccer.
