Celtic strikers Leigh Griffiths and Odsonne Edouard looked somewhere close to their best this afternoon against Hamilton Academical.

The Bhoys made the short trip to Lanarkshire to face off against a depleted Accies.

Ultimately it was the quality of the Frenchman and the Scotland international that proved to be the difference.

Edouard coolly slotted home a penalty before combining expertly with Griffiths, who fired home Celtic’s second.

David Turnbull would round off the scoring, following up on Edouard’s header off the post.

The 3-0 win sets Neil Lennon’s outfit up for a crucial seven days of football.

Big Celtic week

Dundee United visit Celtic Park on Wednesday before a mammoth derby away to Rangers at Ibrox next weekend.

With 70 minutes on the pitch together this week, there’ll be a clamouring for Lennon to stick with both Griffiths and Edouard in attack.

A two-striker formation would be bold heading to Ibrox, but could be just the kind of attacking threat we need to put Steven Gerrard’s side on the backfoot.

Regardless of the manager’s selections in upcoming games, we can be delighted with the duo after their contributions today.

Is it the start of a consistent, crowd-pleasing partnership?

These fans have taken to social media today to share their thoughts on it all…

In other news, Neil Lennon has provided a Celtic injury update on Christopher Jullien.
