Celtic need to show they are well in this title race with a much more convincing performance against Hibs this evening.

The Hoops have yet to hit top speed following the Scottish Premiership winter break and it has meant Rangers have joined them level on points at the summit of the league.

Brendan Rodgers needs to address that in Leith and help restore a three-point gap going into the Scottish Cup weekend in a few days.

The Northern Irishman is yet to taste victory against Hibs at Easter Road as Celtic manager and it’s not the record you want to have going into a must-win game.

However, Hibs are seriously toiling and will be short of confidence after being taught a lesson against St Mirren on Saturday. The Hibees haven’t won in six league games [Fotmob] so Celtic have to go and make that seven in the capital.

Here, 67 Hail Hail provide you with everything there is to know about the clash against Hibs including how to watch on TV, the latest team and injury news plus our score prediction.

Celtic team news and injuries

Brendan Rodgers spoke to the media at Lennoxtown on Tuesday afternoon and got his team and injury news out of the way quickly.

Reo Hatate and Cameron Carter-Vickers remain sidelined, while Greg Taylor is close to making a return.

The left-back is recovering from a calf strain and while the Hibs meeting comes too quickly for the Scotsman, he could be back in the team on Sunday in the Scottish Cup against St Mirren.

Daizen Maeda was spotted training at Lennoxtown on Tuesday after his return from the AFC Asian Cup so will be in contention to gain minutes in the capital.

Prediction: Hibs 0-2 Celtic

Let’s face it, Rangers are gaining far too much momentum in this title race having clawed back a seven-point gap at the top of the league.

It’s time Brendan Rodgers and the team get their act together and deliver a convincing win on the road to restore faith amongst the fanbase.

There were far too many off days at Pittodrie on Saturday, even the likes of Matt O’Riley and the ever-reliable Callum McGregor were under-par in midfield.

We also need to be more ruthless because despite the level of performance put in overall against Aberdeen, the first-half was dominated by the Hoops and only the side’s finishing had the score at 0-0 at the interval.

The response of champions is required and Rangers need to be brought down a peg or two tonight.
