Celtic’s title clinching 3-0 victory against Aberdeen was a personal triumph for right-back Mikael Lustig. He opened the scoring for the Hoops with a smart diving header.
Unfortunately for Lustig, he was forced off towards the end of the match with a hamstring problem.

Should the injury prove to be serious, the win over Aberdeen could prove to be his last game for the Hoops.
His contract expires at the end of the season, and as yet no new deal has been agreed. If this is the end of Lustig’s time with the club, he has signed off in style.

Not only did he score in the title winning game, but he made the right-back position his own once more.
Saw off challenger

As yet we don’t know if Lustig will sign a new deal with the Hoops. So good has his form been recently though, that it could be argued that he deserves a new deal.
However, that is up to the player and the club to agree. If Lustig does leave Celtic, he will go down as modern-day great.
He has won 15 honours in his time at Celtic Park, a truly superb record. If he is to leave, he will have plenty of good wishes from the Hoops support and a great memory of his final game.
