Ange Postecoglou has saluted the Celtic crowd tonight after they roared the team on to a 3-0 victory over FK Jablonec in UEFA Europa League qualifying.

Postecoglou’s side were the better team from the start to the finish. David Turnbull stole the show with a superb double effort, while James Forrest also got on the scoresheet.

The victory guarantees group stage football for Celtic this season in either the Europa League or Europa Conference League.

It was also the first time that Postecoglou experienced a truly large crowd at the stadium, following social distancing guidelines being relaxed.

After the match, the Bhoys boss was asked about the atmosphere, telling BBC Sportsound [21:55]: “It was brilliant. It was everything everyone said it would be to me. It was really special.

“We’re asking a lot from core group of players, without much depth, and we want to play a high energy game.

“Having the crowd behind us gives them a bit more energy. It was a fantastic atmosphere.”

It’s brilliant to see the Celtic fans take to Postecoglou and his team so early in his career in Scotland. Likewise, it seems he can’t get enough of the support either.

In the early days of the Postecoglou speculation, Australian journalist Vince Rugari that Ange and Celtic could be a “match made in heaven”. You can already see what he means.
