New Celtic signing Shane Duffy has shared an emotional Instagram post tonight after scoring on his debut for the Scottish Champions today.
Duffy headed home in the second half and after the match paid tribute to his late father, who sadly passed away earlier this year.
He wrote on Instagram: “Unbelievable feeling pulling on the Celtic jersey for the first time . 5-0 win clean sheet and goal for the bigman up there! Great day all round onto the next one.”
At the time of publishing, the post has been liked close to 16,000 times, a sign of the incredible pull that the new Bhoy has.
Many fellow footballing professionals such as Aston Villa and England star Jack Grealish, as well as Barcelona-conqueror Tony Watt, were also quick to respond.

It’s great to see Duffy live out his dreams at his boyhood club.
The goal has clearly resonated with him on a personal, family level and, hopefully, it’s the springboard towards further success for him in the Scottish top-flight.
I can’t wait to see how he fits in properly to Neil Lennon’s new formation.
Duffy is still getting up to full match fitness and will be delighted with his day’s work, helping his new side towards a 5-0 victory.

As it stands, it sounds like the Republic of Ireland captain is already ticking off bucket list items, just a few days into his Celtic career.
These supporters took to social media this evening to send messages to the big defender…
