One of the recent feel good stories at Celtic Park has been the emergence of Jeremie Frimpong. The summer signing from Manchester City, who is just 18, has burst into the first-team in recent week.

He played very well in the recent win over Ross County, and was so impressive he kept his place in the team for the recent match against Aberdeen.

Best performance yet

Against the Dons, Frimpong turned in his best performance yet, scoring his first goal for the Hoops in a 4-0 win. One man who has been impressed by Frimpong’s performances is his Hoops team-mate James Forrest.

He has revealed that the player’s attitude has impressed all in the changing room.

“He’s settled in really well” Forrest said, in a video on Celtic’s YouTube channel.

“Really good to see”

“It’s really good to see, he’s really liked in the changing room. He’s playing with a smile on his face, he’s done really well since he’s come in.”

Frimpong’s infectious playing style and attitude seems to be rubbing off on his team-mates. They seem delighted for the player, and so they should be.

He’s only made three appearances for the Hoops, but in that time he has looked a very accomplished player. Indeed, it could be argued he has already displaced Moritz Bauer as Celtic’s second choice right-back.

Should Frimpong keep up this level of performance, by the end of the season he could be Celtic’s first-choice right-back. For now though, Neil Lennon will be keeping the player’s feet on the ground. But the high praise Frimpong has received from Forrest shows just how good a performer could be for the Hoops in years to come.
