James Forrest was on media duties at Celtic Park today after the squad’s open training session in front of supporters.
Season ticket holders got the opportunity to see Ange Postecoglou and his staff put the players through their pre-season paces ahead of a trip to Legia Warsaw.
Forrest was asked about competition for places and the signing for Jota by reporters, with the Scotland international full of praise for him.

However, he also reserved unprompted kind words for Liel Abada, who Forrest thinks goes “under the radar” regarding acknowledgement.
The winger said [Celtic FC]: “I think everyone was buzzing Jota signed. He settled in really well last year. He gets on well with all the players. You saw how good he was last season.
“Everyone thought he was going to re-sign so when it was announced, it felt as though he hadn’t been away. Everyone is delighted. Hopefully, he can continue with what he did last season.
“I think Abada has done really well, as well. I think sometimes he can go under the radar a wee bit. I think for how young he was, and he couldn’t speak any English, last season he did really well.
“The young ones coming in, handling the pressure, there are so many players you can give the plaudits to. Hopefully, they just continue and keep performing well for Celtic.”
Abada certainly made an impact in his debut campaign, scoring 15 goals and assisting 11 more.

He’s primed to improve further this season too, having settled in the country and worked for a full year with this team and manager.
The Israeli international looked particularly sharp on Saturday against Blackburn Rovers and there’s understandable excitement about his potential, with the player still only 20.
It could be an even bigger year ahead for the youngster!
