The day Kyogo Furuhashi leaves Celtic is a day that a big void will be left inside the club.
Signed under the stewardship of Ange Postecoglou, the Japan star arrived as an unknown figure but he has transformed into a Celtic legend.
Kyogo constantly scoring against Rangers certainly helps build his reputation – he has scored eight goals in the Glasgow derby.
But, whether it be under the man who brought him to Parkhead or Brendan Rodgers now, there is no stopping the all-action forward.
On Sunday, Celtic beat Motherwell 3-0 to return to the top of the Scottish Premiership table, with Rodgers making changes to his XI.
Adam Idah started Celtic’s draw at Atalanta in midweek, but the XI was rotated with the trip to Fir Park, with Kyogo coming into the XI.
The 29-year-old didn’t score, but watching the game live at the ground, he certainly impressed James McFadden.
Kyogo Furuhashi’s movement
As an opposition defender, you must hate playing against Kyogo, regardless of whether he scores or not and that was evident against Motherwell.
Alistair Johnston scored Celtic’s second goal, but that half space inside the penalty area opened up for the stand-in captain because of his teammate’s selfless run.
McFadden watching from the stands noted how the player is ‘non-stop’ with his movement and it surely must be ‘tiring’ to play against, as he told Sky Sports Football (27/10/24 at 5:10 pm).
“You want to get as many bodies into the box as you can, it’s the pressure they put you under,” said McFadden.
“Watching the game, you can see it live. Kyogo, he’s non-stop. He is always moving. Taking the defenders short and spinning in behind. That’s tiring because you are always looking about trying to make sure, you see where he is.
“On this occasion, Johnston does the right thing, he goes in and makes a run towards the back post. That’s a really good header – Kyogo’s movement is exceptional.”

Kyogo’s career stats at Celtic
It’s incredible and it’s only going to get better and better.
One of the greatest players of Celtic’s modern era and also one of the best signings the club has ever made.
Kyogo has won seven trophies during his time at Parkhead and you can bet your bottom dollar more will be arriving this season.
From his 144 matches in all competitions, he has scored 78 goals and supplied 18 assists.
