One interesting aspect of Celtic’s 2-0 win over St Mirren on Wednesday night was that Jeremie Frimpong, the star of the recent win over Aberdeen, wasn’t in the squad for the game.
He was replaced at right-back by Moritz Bauer. It is fair to say that Bauer didn’t really impress that much in the game. He didn’t have the impact that Frimpong had against Aberdeen.
With that in mind, Frimpong should return to the Hoops starting line-up for the Betfred Cup semi-final against Hibs on Saturday.
Some fans may question potential decision

Some fans might have some questions about that potential decision. What about Hatem Abd Elhamed, for a start? Elhamed might be a more than decent right-back for the Hoops.
However, it should be remembered that he has not featured in the last five domestic games for the Hoops. He has played in the Europa League fixtures though. Therefore, it stands to reason that Elhamed will return to the side for the game against Lazio next Thursday.
Perhaps another question would be, is Frimpong experienced enough to play in such a big game? Well, he is at the beginning of his career. However, Neil Lennon had no issues with starting him at Pittodrie, and Aberdeen are a better side than Hibs at the moment.
Manager should have no issue with starting player

Therefore, Neil Lennon should have no issue with starting Frimpong in what would be his biggest game for the Hoops so far.
It will no doubt be a challenge for the player in the wide open spaces of Hampden Park. However, he has shown that he is up for any challenge that he has faced so far in his brief Celtic career.
You can tell that he loves playing for the Hoops, so he will be eager to start the game. Frimpong is more than capable of helping Celtic reach the Betfred Cup Final.
