Joe Hart takes another vital step in proving Celtic doubters wrong
Celtic goalkeeper Joe Hart simply continues to prove all of his Celtic doubters wrong, and yesterday was no different.
The Hoops managed to secure a fine 3-0 win against Ross County at Parkhead. However, the result was perhaps a touch more flattering than our performance on the day deserved.
Two goals from Albian Ajeti added to a Cameron Carter-Vickers opener. All of a sudden. But it could’ve been oh so different had Hart not made a superb save at 1-0.
Last season, County were netting the golden opportunity they had with around 25 minutes to go. Dominic Samuel’s diving header from a fine Charles-Cook cross looked to have given County an unlikely route back into the game. However, former England number one Hart threw himself across goal to make a stunning block and keep Celtic’s lead in tact.
It was yet another key moment as Hart continues to produce in a Celtic jersey. Despite the concerns from many after signing him, the ex-Man City title-winner is proving to be one of our most important pieces of business.
Joe Hart keeps proving Celtic doubters wrong
When Hart signed, many were concerned about the careless errors he makes under minimal pressure. But outside of one mistake in a game against AZ Alkmaar that we won, there’s been nothing of any major concern.

Hart is also starting to secure some impressive numbers in Glasgow too. His shutout against County made it five clean sheets in nine games. He’s only shipped seven goals, with some big saves in previous games to boot.
You could see how much of an impact Hart was looking to make yesterday too. It wasn’t just a case of him making a save and thinking his job had been done. He was constantly looking to get the ball in play quickly for every goal-kick opportunity. He was firmly focused on how he could exploit County even as a goalkeeper. Using quick goal-kicks helped ensure the pressure on County was relentless.
Everything about Hart screams authority at the moment. He’s one of the most popular players at the club, and his experience is proving to be enormous for a team that’s still in the early stages of gelling together.
And it’s fair to say the supporters have been left highly appreciative of Hart’s efforts so far too. Here’s a look at how they reacted to another big performance yesterday:
I thought it was a panic signing and wasn't keen because he's been a bombscare his whole career but there no doubt he's miles better that what we have and there's now a confidence at the back that was missing plus he does have world class saves in his locker.— Paul (@fudpucker74) September 11, 2021
