Joe Hart says he has “lost a few more strands of hair” which he “can’t afford” after his brave goalkeeping display for Celtic in today’s 9-0 Scottish Premiership win against Dundee United.

Hart made a fine stop from a Glenn Middleton shot early in the match before following it up with another block at the expense of striker Steven Fletcher, who had lunged for the ball and caught Hart on the head with a heavy blow.

The Celtic favourite looked dazed in the aftermath and also required staples to stem bleeding before carrying on for the entire 90 minutes.

On Instagram he stated: “Top performance. Congratulations to Kyogo and Liel Abada on the hat tricks. Appreciate the messages of concern… I’ve lost a few more strands of hair which I can’t afford, but other than that, I’m all good. Let’s keep moving 💪💚🍀”

Other Celtic players have also been reacting to the match on the platform.

Hat-trick hero Liel Abada said: “First hat-trick for Celtic & great team performance!💚⚽️⚽️⚽️ Thank you for your support🙏🏻🙏🏻We keep pushing🙌🏻”

Goalscorer Carl Starfelt was delighted to make history, saying: “Amazing performance! Biggest away win in Celtics history 😌🙏🏻”

And Greg Taylor kept it short and sweet while also congratulating Kyogo and Abada, exclaiming: “Crazy day!! 💚”

The team spirit and unity are as strong as ever at Celtic, as this group prepare for a busy period and a step up in quality of opponent.

Under captain Callum McGregor, the players have really bonded on and off the pitch. For us as fans, it’s visible in both environments too. You can see how much they enjoy playing for each other on matchday.

As for Hart, well, that’s the kind of warrior mentality he exudes at all times. It was a concern seeing him go down the way he did, but thankfully he’s all good, and we’ll need him for the Champions League group stages – a stage we know he is capable of performing on.
