Celtic legend Johan Mjallby has made a comment that will certainly intrigue the Hoops support. He has admitted that he didn’t expect the Hoops to win the recent Glasgow derby so convincingly.
The Hoops eased to a 2-0 win in the game, which seemed to come as a bit of a surprise to the multiple title winner with Celtic.
“Surprised in a way”

“I was surprised in a way at how comfortable Celtic won the Old Firm game,” he said, as reported by the Evening Times.
“It was great following the build-up and watch Celtic live in a couple of games before that as I was in Scotland.”
Mjallby’s comments are certainly interesting, as he knows current Hoops boss Neil Lennon very well. Indeed, he was Lennon’s assistant in the current Celtic manager’s first spell in charge.
The Hoops were certainly under a bit of pressure heading into the game. Neil Lennon had already seen his side knocked out of the Champions League by Cluj.
Hoops boss answered his critics

However, the Hoops boss responded in style to any criticism as Celtic won comfortably at the home of their biggest rivals.
Celtic have since gone from strength to strength following that win, and the Hoops proudly sit at the top of the league table with a 100% record from their first six league games this season.
That is a testament to the job that Lennon and his staff have done recently at the club. Perhaps Mjallby will consider the Hoops favourites the next time Celtic meet their biggest rivals, as the Hoops should be.
