With Celtic having the chance to win the league at Pittodrie on Saturday, one player will be more determined than most to ensure that the Hoops get the point required.

That player is Hoops winger Jonny Hayes.

Hayes has found it difficult to hold down a place in the Hoops first-team since joining the club before last season.

However, since Neil Lennon has taken over as interim manager he has played in some big games.

Prove the doubters wrong

That seems unlikely to change with the visit to Pittodrie. Should Hayes be selected, he will be out to show the doubters two things.

Firstly, that he was correct to leave Aberdeen and join the Hoops when he did. Secondly, that he deserves his place in the Hoops side.

Rodgers rarely selected player

It’s fair to say that fans haven’t been completely convinced by Hayes’ performances since he joined the Hoops. Brendan Rodgers seemed to think that, as he rarely featured Hayes, even though he signed him.

However, that has changed under Neil Lennon.

As a result, Hayes could well feature from the start for the Hoops in the potential title party.

Lennon will be counting on his hard work on in could prove to be a tough game for the Bhoys. There is no doubt that Hayes will be motivated should he be selected for the game. That is what Lennon will be counting on.
