Celtic progressed to the final of the Scottish Cup after hammering St Johnstone on Easter Sunday.

Brendan Rodgers is now on course to create history as the first Celtic manager to win three trebles in the entire history of the club.

Goals from Callum McGregor, Daizen Maeda (2), Adam Idah and Jota helped Celtic put St Johnstone to the sword and book another Hampden date against Aberdeen next month.

However, it was what happened at Jota’s goal and Celtic’s fifth that ‘thrilled’ the Hoops winger as he sent a message to the young fan who rushed onto the pitch to congratulate the Portuguese winger.

Jota ‘thrilled’ as young Celtic fan gives Hoops winger a career first

Almost immediately after Jota netted Celtic’s fifth goal, a young Hoops fan ran onto the pitch to celebrate with him.

Asked about the moment, the Jota said he was ‘thrilled’ for the young Celtic fan as he sent him a post-match Hampden message.

Jota told BBC Sport Scotland, “Definitely, It’s the first time I’ve lived something like this.

“I was thrilled for that and I hope he had a memory for life.

“I just hope he is ok at the moment.”

It’s little wonder Celtic supporters love the Portuguese winger as he continually proves that his bond with the fans is the most important thing to him at the club.

Jota’s record against Aberdeen as Celtic hero terrorises Pittodrie club

Celtic now face Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup as Jota looks to win his second treble at the Parkhead club.

And looking at Jota’s record against the Pittodrie club, Aberdeen will be terrified of facing the winger at Hampden.

With the Scottish Cup final now just four weeks away, Jota has time to build up his fitness even more now in time for the showpiece occassion and, hopefully, pile more misery onto Jimmy Thelin’s team.
