Kenny Miller's Betfred cup final prediction can motivate Celtic

Kenny Miller has certainly had an interesting career. The Partick Thistle striker has scored for both Celtic and Rangers in Glasgow derbies.

Hie derby goal for Celtic came in 2006, and sealed a 2-0 win for the Hoops. Despite this, he believes that Rangers will defeat Celtic in Sunday’s Betfred Cup Final and end the Hoops’ long unbeaten run in domestic cup competitions.

“I will say 2-1 for Rangers and it wouldn’t surprise if the game goes to extra time” Miler said, as reported by the Herald.

“Maybe it’s my heart ruling my head but I just have a feeling this might be the right time for Celtic’s run to come to an end”

Miller is perfectly within his rights to give his prediction for the game. However, those comments could act as motivation for the Hoops ahead of the match,

It seems that because Rangers have had a decent start to the season – yet still trail Celtic in the league table – that the Hoops may have been written off in some quarters.

However, Celtic are unbeaten in their last 30 domestic cup matches. A truly incredible record, that deserves a lot of respect, perhaps more than it has received.

Celtic should be favourites for the cup final. They have won the last 11 games in all competitions, including two wins over Lazio in the Europa League. The fact that the Hoops have managed to keep their winning run going despite not having a natural striker in the team is credit to Neil Lennon and his players.

There is a lot riding on this Betfred Cup Final for Celtic. The Hoops have the chance to win their 10th domestic trophy in a row. Neil Lennon can collect the only domestic trophy he has not won as Hoops boss. Therefore, you would think that the team will be highly motivated.

Miller’s comments could only add to the motivation that the Hoops players have.
