Celtic lynchpin Kieran Tierney has made an intriguing revelation about his forthcoming double hernia operation.

Tierney is due to go for the operation in the aftermath of Saturday’s Scottish Cup Final against Hearts. However, he has revealed that he wanted to have the operation following last month’s cup semi-final against Aberdeen.

However, circumstances resulted in the operation being delayed, and as a result he should be available for the final game of the season.

“Best to get the operation immediately”

“I got told a few weeks ago, after the Aberdeen semi-final. I put forward if it would be the best to get the operation immediately. But they weren’t sure if it was possible to get the surgery so soon. So I was booked in for after the season” he revealed, as reported by the Evening Times.

It will be interesting to see just how effective Tierney will be in the cup final. His injury problems have been affecting his game quite badly in recent weeks.

A gamble to feature the player

There is no doubt it is a big gamble by the club that he is even playing in the game in the first place. However, the club and Tierney must feel that it is a gamble worth taking.

Only time will tell if that proves to be the case. Hopefully Tierney manages to get through the game, and all the worries are for nothing.
