The name ‘Larsson’ is trending on Twitter in the UK this evening due to the blow away performance of Kyogo Furuhashi at Celtic Park.
Celtic supporters are revelling in the fun of a hat-trick home debut. Fans have also noticed a similarity in his tongue-out goal celebration that was snapped by photographers at the game and posted on the official Celtic Twitter account.
Obviously this is all a bit of a stretch right now. Henrik Larsson was a one-of-a-kind generational talent at the Bhoys. However, Kyogo certainly hasn’t done his chances of becoming a Celtic hero any harm at all.
He was absolutely sensational against Dundee.
This wasn’t a performance that merely pointed to positive signs ahead for a new signing. The forward is clearly the real deal. It was a complete display that announced Furuhashi’s arrival as one of the top talents in the country already.
The next step is consistency. All eyes will be on Thursday night to see if he can replicate such a performance. Given he has scored four goals in two matches, I don’t think that’ll be much of a problem.
There’s a long way to go for this Celtic team. They have a lot to prove. Postecoglou still has a few signings to make.
However, it’s hard not to be excited after witnessing today’s performance, not just from Kyogo, but the whole team.
