Celtic boss Neil Lennon confirmed before the Hoops take on Rennes in the Europa League that Leigh Griffiths will miss the game due to a thigh injury.

That is unfortunate for the player, who has rarely featured for the Hoops in recent weeks. However, the good news for Griffiths is that he should return in time for the league game against Kilmarnock on Sunday.
The injury could hand an opportunity to another player though, and that player is Vakoun Issouf Bayo. The striker has only started once for the Hoops since completing his £2 million move from Dunajska Streda.
Seems to be a favourite of the manager
His lack of game time was mostly due to a series of injuries that he suffered at the start of his Celtic career. However, he now seems to be a favourite of manager Neil Lennon.
When Odsonne Edouard has been substituted in recent weeks, it has been Bayo that has been replacing him and not Griffiths.
This happened most recently in the win over Hamilton. Bayo played the lone striker role towards the end of the game.
May feature against Rennes
You would imagine that the same thing will happen against Rennes, if the Hoops are looking to make a like for like change.
Even though Griffiths is set to return to the squad for the game against Kilmarnock, it would not be a surprise to see Bayo get the nod to start that game.
That would be along similar lines to the team selected by the Hoops boss against Hearts last month. Bayo replaced Edouard in the starting line-up, and he played well in the game.
It is a good thing for the Celtic squad to have three players battling it out to be the main striker at the club.
The competition can only make the team play better, and it will make the individual players play better as well.
