Luke McCowan is the man of the moment for Celtic after delivering four goal contributions in the Bhoys’ 5-0 victory over Ross County earlier today.

Claiming a goal for himself, the 26-year-old also racked up three assists on an afternoon where the Scottish Premiership holders ran Don Cowie’s visitors ragged.

Having rarely started since completing his £1 million move from Dundee in the summer, Luke McCowan repaid Brendan Rodgers’ faith after earning his chance due to hard work on the training field.

Scoring his third goal in the colours of his boyhood club, there is now a real clamour for McCowan to take a starting jersey over the coming weeks despite the form of his midfield counterparts.

Despite calls for his inclusion more often, it is fair to say the Celtic midfielder is content working for the opportunity under Brendan Rodgers.

Speaking post-match, McCowan has revealed that he intends to simply turn up when called upon as he acknowledges the competition for places in his position is vast.

He explained [Celtic FC]: “You can’t have a petted lip when you’re not playing in this team. You’ve got to be ready to come on.

“The squad is full of quality and there’s so many games across the season that you just have to be ready to be ready when called upon.

“I just always want to learn. I think I’m asking Callum 20 million questions a day on how to play positions or whatever!

“I’m always willing to learn and don’t want to drop the standards or levels, you just want to keep them going.”

Whether it be attack, midfield, defence or between the sticks, all of Celtic’s compartments are combining together nicely to put together a side who look capable of doing some damage across several competitions.

Rodgers is the architect; however, without his players following rigid guidance, there is no foundations for the recipe to success.

McCowan looks to have really bought into his way of working and so have his teammates. On the face of it, Celtic supporters could be set for a really special season if this continues!
