Celtic’s Christopher Jullien had his hands full with Livingston striker Lyndon Dykes in the recent league game between the sides.

The duo had a running battle throughout the game, which unfortunately for the Hoops, ended with the Livingston man winning the day in a 2-0 victory.

Despite their battling 90 minutes, Dykes had nothing but praise for Celtic’s record defensive signing.

“If I get the better of him then I get the better of him. I thought it was a good battle” he said, as reported by the Scottish Sun.

“We were going at it a bit. He is a great player. I look forward to playing him again.”

Hopefully Jullien learns from his battle with Dykes. He has played well for the Hoops so far, but this was probably his worst performance for Celtic.

He got dragged into a physical battle which he didn’t seem to relish. However, as his Celtic career progresses he will get uses to that element of Scottish football, and hopefully thrive in it.

Players can’t play well in every game

Players can’t play well in every game that they play. Especially in the tough world of Scottish football. You are always liable to have a bad game now and then. That has happened to the very best players at Celtic over the years.

Jullien can be pleased with his performances for the Hoops so far aside from the recent one against Livingston. He has stood up to be counted at Ibrox and in the Europa League. As long as he learns from his performance against Dykes, this is a blip than can be overcome.
