Celtic winger Marian Shved was unsurprisingly delighted at how his competitive Celtic debut went. The player came on in the second-half of the game against Nomme Kalju, and made a big impact.

He scored Celtic’s second goal in the 2-0 win with a fine finish which bodes well for the future. After the game he took to Instagram to reveal how he felt. He delivered a two-word verdict on his Hoops debut.

“Dream debut!” he began. “Job well done by the lads! Now on to defending our title this weekend and awaiting our date with Cluj!” he concluded.

Shved was very impressive in his cameo role against Nomme Kalju. He almost scored with his first touch, but was denied by the goalkeeper.

However, it is his goal that will excite the Hoops support. His finish was excellent, and was befitting a player who scored plenty of goals for his former side Karpaty Lviv.

Could make a big contribution

Shved’s progress this summer was hampered by an injury, but now that he is fit he looks as if he could make a big contribution this season.

It will be interesting to see how involved the player is against St Johnstone and Cluj. He deserves to see some game time against both. However, for the moment he may have to be content with a place on the bench.

Still, he looks as if he could be a very good player for the Hoops this season.
