Former Celtic defender Mark Wilson has boldly predicted that the Scottish Premiership title race is over.
Celtic moved 10 points clear of bitter rivals Rangers after a 1-0 win over Dundee. Wilson believes the gap could increase even further when the teams meet at Celtic Park after the international break.
“It’s done, dusted and I think the big thing now for Celtic is how far can they stretch their lead — and that will be on Steven Gerrard’s mind too” he told the Scottish Sun.

“They will make it 13”
“They are ten points clear and I think they will make it 13 when the sides meet at the end of next week.”

It is hard to quibble with Wilson’s assessment that the title race is over. With the Hoops 10 points clear with eight games remaining, it would take an almighty loss in form to turn the title race around.

Need to be at their best
However, the upcoming Glasgow derby won’t be easy. The Hoops will need to be at their very best to pull off the win. Rangers will be hurting, and looking to make a statement ahead of next season.
The biggest factor in that game might not be Celtic’s opponents. It could well be the face that the game comes when so many players will be returning from international duty.
As long as the Celtic players return from international duty unscathed, Celtic should have more than enough quality to pick up the victory against Rangers.
