Former Celtic defender Johan Mjallby believes that if the Hoops clinch the treble it could be enough to get Neil Lennon the permanent job at Celtic Park.
The Hoops are in the semi-final of the Scottish Cup against Aberdeen, and a win would put Celtic one game away from the final, and a potential ‘treble treble’.
Mjallby believes that securing the ‘unbelievable’ third clean sweep in a row should be enough to see Lennon appointed.
“In the running”

“Neil will definitely be in the running if they finish the season on a high and can secure another treble, which would be unbelievable”, Mjallby revealed to BT Sport.
“A triple treble, it’s unheard of.”

Mjallby did go on to admit that he is ‘biased’ in favour of Lennon getting the job, as both worked together at Celtic for years.
“I know how passionate he is”

“I’m biased because I know Neil and loved working with him. I know how passionate he is for Celtic.”
It would be difficult for the Celtic board not to appoint Lennon should Celtic clinch the treble. But the matter isn’t as simple as that.
If Celtic continue to perform indifferently in the weeks ahead, Lennon might not get the job. The picture should look a lot clearer after the upcoming match at Hampden. A win for Celtic would put Lennon in a good position to get the job though.
