Dembele of course was no stranger to leaving Rangers gutted at Hampden, albeit never in a final. He prided himself on being a derby day destroyer.

His former teammates didn’t make it easy for themselves today but can still be proud of a battling performance that secured a 1-0 win and has put a tenth successive domestic trophy in the Celtic Park cabinet.

Our need for another forward has never been more obvious and hopefully, it’s something the club address during the January transfer window.
