Celtic return to league action on Saturday against Ross County, finding themselves in an unfamiliar second place in the Premiership table.
That is down to poor results in the last two league games against Hibs and Livingston. The Hoops have taken a total of one point from six available from those fixtures.
As a result, Rangers now lead the title race by two points.
Celtic legend Murdo MacLeod isn’t concerned about that, as there is plenty of time left in the season. However, he did have some blunt advice for his former club – at the moment, any win will do.
“Try and win it”
“Celtic just have to go into every game now and try and win it one way or another” he said, as reported by the Scottish Sun.
“Both teams have dropped points already and there is no need for people to get carried away so early.”
Celtic’s performances in the last two league games have been poor. The Hoops did at least create chances against Hibs, which wasn’t the case against Livingston.
All about getting points on the board
As MacLeod says though, any win will do against Ross County to get the team back on track. Would a scrappy, 1-0 win do on the day? Maybe some fans will want more goals. However, it is all about getting the points on the board.
This season it looks as if the title race will be a close run thing. Therefore, any win will do for Celtic after not winning the last two league games.
For one game at least, perhaps it is time to forget about the performances and focus on the result. The bottom line is that the Hoops must get back to winning ways against Ross County.
