Neil Lennon has revealed that Kieran Tierney will likely miss Celtic’s clash with Kilmarnock on Saturday as he attempts to get his hip injury sorted.
Lennon has disclosed that the player is set to see a specialist to find out if the needs an operation.
“Kieran hasn’t trained with us this week and saw the specialist today” he revealed to the Scotsman.
“A doubt”

“So he will be a doubt for Saturday at the very least.”
That is a potential blow for the Hoops, as they have really missed Tierney when he has not been available. There has to be a doubt about him playing again this season.

That could depend on what the specialist tells the player, but perhaps it will be for the best if Tierney doesn’t feature again this season.
Much better team with player in side

In the short-term, he could be replaced by Emilio Izaguirre or Jonny Hayes. However, there is no doubt that the Hoops are a much better team with Tierney in the side though.
That was evident in the Hoops’ last game, the 0-0 draw with Hibernian.
Celtic certainly missed his energy and ability on the ball, as they struggled to deal with the Edinburgh outfit.
However, that is something that they might have to get used to in the weeks ahead.
It will be up to Lennon and the rest of the staff and players at the club to ensure that they can cope with such a key player’s absence.
