Neil Lennon has announced the Celtic side that will take on Aberdeen. The team was revealed on the club’s Twitter account a short time ago, and is as follows:

Starting XI: Forster, Frimpong, Jullien, Ajer, Bolingoli; Brown, Ntcham, McGregor, Christie; Forrest, Edouard

Substitutes: Gordon, Taylor, Bitton, Rogic, Johnston, Bayo, Griffiths

The big news to take from the starting line-up is that it there is one change from the side which defeated Hearts 2-0 in midweek, with Boli Bolingoli replacing Jonny Hayes. Other than that, it is probably the team most people would have expected the Hoops boss to select, as Celtic created a host of chances against Hearts.

Some Celtic fans on social media have had their say on the starting line-up. One fan described the team as ‘solid’, and declared that ‘3 points a must’ which is all that matters in the battle for the title. Another fan felt that Greg Taylor should have started the game.

Here are some of the best reactions from social media to the side selected by the Hoops boss:

The game against Aberdeen is the first of three matches in eight days for Celtic which could have a big bearing on the title race. At the moment, the Hoops are two points ahead of Rangers at the top of the league. Victory in the next three games would leave the team eight points clear at the winter break.

No let-up from the Hoops

That is why despite being in a great run of form, Neil Lennon won’t want his team to let-up in their pursuit of the title. At the moment every point counts.

Aberdeen look to have improved since the last meeting between the teams, when Celtic eased to a 4-0 win at Pittodrie in October, with all the goals coming in the first-half. Another 4-0 win would be a great result for the Hoops. However, with the pressure on after Rangers win against Hibs any win will do for Celtic.
