Celtic boss Neil Lennon has announced the Hoops team that will take on Partick Thistle in the Scottish Cup fourth round at Firhill.

The team, which was revealed on Celtic’s Twitter account a short time ago, is as follows:

Starting XI: Forster; Frimpong, Jullien, Bitton, Taylor; Brown, Ntcham, McGregor, Rogic; Griffiths, Edouard

Substitutes: Gordon, Simunovic, Bauer, Hayes, Bolingoli, Arzani, Klimala

The big news to take away from the starting line-up is that the Hoops play two up-front – Leigh Griffiths and Odsonne Edouard. There are also rare starts for Greg Taylor, Nir Bitton and Tom Rogic. New signing Patryk Klimala is on the bench.

Some fans on social media have had their say on the team that was selected by Hoops boss Neil Lennon. One fan said that it was ‘good to see’ Greg Taylor get a start. Another was pleased to see Celtic play two strikers.

Here are some of the best reactions from social media to the team that will start Celtic’s Scottish Cup campaign:

The Hoops go into the game looking to protect their proud recent Scottish Cup record. Celtic have won the trophy for the last three seasons.

That should be enough motivation for Neil Lennon’s to get the win that will book their place in the last 16 of the competition.

Hoops have already beat Championship side this season

Interestingly enough Celtic have already played Partick this season, an emphatic 5-0 Betfred Cup win which was notable for being Jeremie Frimpong’s first game for the club.

Hopefully the Hoops can record a similar win at the start of the Scottish Cup campaign.

Celtic’s last game before the winter break was of course the 2-1 loss to Rangers, which ended what was a very successful calendar year on a sour note.

A good win against Partick will show that the game has been forgotten. It will also show that the Hoops are back on track towards completing another domestic clean sweep.
