Neil Lennon has used the word ‘grinding’ to describe Celtic’s performance against Kilmarnock. The Hoops won 1-0 thanks to Jozo Simunovic’s goal.
However, the performance wasn’t the best as the Hoops struggled to create chances. Indeed, Kilmarnock were arguably the better side for the first-half.

Lennon took to Celtic’s official Twitter account after the game to defend his players.
“They are human beings”
“They are human beings, and they can’t always play scintillating football. Right now, we are grinding. I get that. But we are grinding in the right way.”
Lennon is at least being honest. Every game seems to be a struggle for the Hoops just now. But the team are still getting the points required.

The win takes the Hoops only a point away from winning the title. Indeed, should Rangers fail to defeat Aberdeen on Sunday, the title will be won.
Sense of unease

Despite the title being almost won, there does seem to be a sense of unease around Celtic at the moment. That could be down to the poor performances, or the fact that the club seem to be in limbo until the next manager is chosen.
Despite these issues, the Hoops still have the chance to win a third domestic treble in a row. But some good football would be appreciated as well. It doesn’t even have to be ‘scintillating’.
