Celtic’s next game is one of their most important of the season so far. They take on Hibs in the Betfred Cup semi-final at Hampden Park on Saturday.
The Hoops will be aiming to reach the Betfred Cup Final for the fourth season in a row, as they seek to defend the trophy they have won for the last three seasons.
Hoops boss Neil Lennon feels that a trip to Hampden will motivate his players. However, he believes that if the Hoops need any extra motivation, they will want to make up for their performance in the 1-1 draw with Hibs last month.
“There’s an incentive there”

“In the League Cup, there’s an incentive there to get to the final. The players’ record over the last three seasons in cup competition has been unbelievable. The last result is extra motivation for them as well” Lennon said, as reported by the Celtic View (Volume 55, Issue 17, Page. 6).
It goes without saying that Celtic will be favourites for the game. Hibs are struggling at the wrong end of the Premiership table.
Hoops were favourites for recent game between sides

However, the Hoops were also favourites to defeat Hibs at Easter Road last month, and were unable to do so. That is why Neil Lennon will be hoping that his players have plenty of motivation for the game at Hampden Park.
If the team is not at their best, then Hibs, on the day, are capable of producing a surprise. The extra motivation Lennon talks about will hopefully not be needed on the day. Should it be required though, Celtic have the right man in charge to tell the players what they have to get right.
