Neil Lennon has admitted that he is pleased with the progress that Timothy Weah has made since joining the club from PSG on loan in January.

But he admits that there is one aspect to his game that the player can improve on  – and that is in training.

Former title-winner had the same problem

Lennon has disclosed that Weah isn’t the best player in training. However, he went on to reveal that a Celtic title-winner of the past wasn’t the best in training either.

“He’s not the best of trainers, but he does his stuff on the pitch and you get players like that” Lennon told the Scottish Sun.

“Very pleased with him”

“Didier Agathe was rubbish in training and absolutely brilliant on a Saturday. I’m not saying Timo is that bad! But I am very pleased with him.”

Weah impressed in the recent win against St Mirren, opening the scoring in a 2-0 win. The fact that Lennon was so pleased with his performance bodes well for Weah’s chances of returning to Celtic on loan next season.

Although that will no doubt depend on what PSG want to do, and who the next Celtic manager is. If Lennon gets the job, Weah’s loan deal could well be extended.

In the here and now Weah deserves more game time. He has only started three games since moving to Glasgow. After his performance against St Mirren, he more than deserves his fourth start against Livingston on Saturday.
