Celtic have announced the starting line-up that will take on Motherwell at Fir Park. The team was revealed on the Hoops’ Twitter account.

The big news is that Leigh Griffiths returns to the Hoops starting line-up. There is also a first league start for Christopher Jullien. Nir Bitton partners him in defence, with Kristoffer Ajer at right back. In-form Ryan Christie drops to the bench, with Olivier Ntcham replacing him.

Some Celtic fans on social media have been giving their verdict on the team selected by manager Neil Lennon. Fans seemed bemused by the omission of Christie, but were pleased to see Griffiths back in the side. One fan went as far as to claim that the Hoops were ‘getting beat’.

Here are some of the best reactions from Twitter to the Celtic starting line-up:

The Hoops go into the game aiming to make it two league wins out of two following the 7-0 victory over St Johnstone.

Game will not be easy

Celtic have not won at Fir Park since 2016, so it will not be an easy task. There is also the fact that the Hoops take on Cluj in three days time to consider.

However, all thoughts of the match against Cluj should be placed on the back burner until after the Hoops take on Motherwell.

Once Celtic have hopefully secured the three points, attention can then turn to the Champions League qualifying fixture.
