Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard will miss out the clash against St Mirren – despite the fact he’s been training with the squad this week.
Edouard has been struggling with a muscle injury over the last several weeks. But despite Brendan Rodgers stating that he was back training, he’s once again been ruled out for another match.
The 14-goal Frenchman’s return has been eagerly anticipated. Some thought he would’ve been making his return tomorrow night, but that apparently won’t be the case.

Instead, it’s likely that Timothy Weah is given the chance to add to his debut goal against Airdrie on Saturday. That’s despite the fact many would’ve loved to have seen the partnership between Weah and Edouard start tomorrow.
Surely just a case of too early
Hopefully this isn’t anything to be too concerned about. Given Edouard has clearly been struggling with this issue over the winter break, it could just be Rodgers playing it safe.
The Frenchman only returned to training on Monday. Therefore, perhaps Rodgers feels that throwing him into a match just two days later is too risky. After all, Celtic have plenty of cover to deal with it.

Rodgers also said that the game could’ve possibly been a tad too early for Edouard, and this is surely just confirmation of that.
He therefore joins Kieran Tierney, Olivier Ntcham, Eboue Kouassi, Tom Rogic, Vakoun Issouf Bayo, Leigh Griffiths, and Daniel Arzani on the unavailable list.

Anthony Ralston remains a doubt heading into tomorrow night too. It’ll be interesting to see whether Rodgers gives Mikael Lustig his place back, or instead opts for Cristian Gamboa instead.
Both men aren’t good enough to be starting games consistently for the club, and are also likely to be off in the summer. Despite that, however, Rodgers could be forced into choosing either/or.
Here’s hoping the knocks to both Ralston and Edouard aren’t serious anyway.
