Oliver Burke states once more that he loves playing for Celtic after Hearts win

Oliver Burke’s love for Celtic has once again been expressed by the man himself.

In the aftermath of a huge 2-1 win over Hearts, Burke gave his thoughts on the match as well as his love for playing in green-and-white.

The West Brom loan star has been a massive hit at Parkhead since arriving in January. Signed by Brendan Rodgers, the forward was ditched by the man who promised to develop his game.

But last night, he put in a sensational shift to help steer Celtic to a big three points. And after the match on Celtic TV, he couldn’t contain his delight at the performance from the Bhoys and his happiness in Glasgow.

“Yeah I’m really happy here. I love playing for Celtic.

“I really enjoyed that one and it meant a lot to us. It was a really important win and the boys are obviously delighted. I think we made it tough for ourselves in the second half, but we came out on top.

“It was really important for us to stick to the task at hand and we did that today. We showed everything that’s been going on hasn’t affected us at all. We were more than ready and I thought it was great from the boys.”

Statement from Burke

This was a real statement from Burke. He’s expressed that the players aren’t affected by the departure of Rodgers, and that was evident in the passion shown at Tynecastle.

Interestingly, Burke started up front but seemed to shift out on to the right side after the introduction of Odsonne Edouard. It was such a lively shift from the £15million man, and it’ll be interesting to see what Neil Lennon’s plans are for him.

But with each passing positive display from Burke, his value goes up. West Brom are insistent they get him back in the summer, but it would be great for Celtic to throw their might behind doing a deal for the Scotland international.

At the very least, it seems as though a Scotland call-up could be in his immediate future. Celtic have shown just how valuable he can be when played regularly. Burke, on the other side of the coin, also seems grateful.

His love for the club appears to be growing by the week. You could hardly wipe the smile off his face in his post-match Celtic TV interview. That alone tells you a lot about where his head is now.
