Celtic’s late win over Motherwell kept the title race alive for one more week as Brendan Rodgers’ side battled back from an insipid first half that saw them fall behind to a Blair Spittal goal.
At 1-0 down, Brendan Rodgers’ side looked bereft of ideas in the first 45 minutes that saw the title slip ever further from their grasp.
However, the team rallied in the second half and an inspired substitution saw Rodgers bring on Adam Idah who tucked two chances away to put Celtic ahead then Luis Palma popped up at the far post to net the third and ensure that three vital points headed back to Parkhead.
But it was Idah who stole the show and the heart of Brendan Rodgers who will know that his on-loan January signing got him out of jail.
Brendan Rodgers hails Adam Idah’s Celtic performance
The Celtic manager was full of praise for the Irishman and was delighted at the contribution he has made in his short time at the club.
Rodgers said [Sky Sports], “I think he would just give us a better reference. Obviously, it was quiet for Kyogo but we lacked movement and then we lacked that link-up play in the game.

“So he’s a player that wants to run into depth, but I think this was the type of game where we’re going to force them back and we needed someone to set the game up as well as as well as running behind.
“And Adam comes in and he was outstanding.”
After failing to score in his last two outings, Idah now looks like he is settling well into the club and is earning a newfound hero status amongst the Celtic fans.
Next up is a tough away trip to Tynecastle on Sunday next week, after Dundee at home at home on Wednesday night, where the fans will be hoping they start the game against Steven Naismith’s team how they finished this one.
