There can’t be many things sweeter in football than celebrating a win in the away dressing room of your fiercest rivals, but that’s exactly what Celtic experienced today at Ibrox.

A Kyogo Furuhashi strike just before half-time delivered the 1-0 victory and all three Scottish Premiership points, leaving Ibrox drowning in a chorus of boos from the Rangers fans.

And after the game, Matt O’Riley and Liel Abada were quick to show their joy from within the stadium walls, with much-deserved celebrations on Instagram.

O’Riley was an essential contributor across the 90 minutes. His well-timed header cut out Connor Goldson’s clearance to play Kyogo clear through on goal, with the Japanese star finishing expertly past Jack Butland.

He also won the majority of his duels and distributed the ball efficiently alongside Callum McGregor in the Hoops midfield.

Stat trackers FotMob have him listed as the star man of the afternoon, although others have pointed to McGregor and Liam Scales as other stand-outs.

Abada’s afternoon was a little quieter, although his surging run and cross for Kyogo in the first half set the tone for the subsequent Celtic chances that followed.

Having recently signed a new contract, he’ll be desperate to solidify his place in the team as a consistent regular under Rodgers.

Abada is now set to travel to link up with the Israeli national team for qualifiers against Romania and Belarus, while pal O’Riley will get a few days off before getting back to hard work at Lennoxtown and some quality training time with the coaching staff.
