Celtic, after a few poor results and performances, are in a good place once more as they prepare to take on Hearts in the Premiership on Sunday.

The 2-0 win over AIK in the Europa League play-off first leg gives the Hoops a good chance of making the group stages of the competition.

For now though, all thoughts must turn to league action, and an important game against Hearts. With the Glasgow derby only a week away, Neil Lennon will want to make sure the Hoops go into that game with another win under the team’s belt.

Manager certain to select very strong side

Therefore, it will be a strong team that is selected by the Hoops manager.

The biggest decision will probably be who is selected in goals. Fraser Forster could be set to make a return to the starting line-up following his loan move from Southampton.

If he is to be the first-choice goalkeeper, it makes sense to start him in the game. It will no doubt be an emotional return for the goalkeeper, who will receive a great ovation from the support.

At left-back, Boli Bolingoli looks set to continue after a decent performance against AIK, and the rest of the defence should be the one that kept a clean sheet against the Swedish champions.

Jozo Simunovic and Christopher Jullien at centre-back, with Kristoffer Ajer at right-back. That might not be Ajer’s preferred position, but if Hatem Abd Elhmaed is out he can keep his place in the team.

Key man should be rested

In midfield, it would make sense for Scott Brown to be rested with the return leg against AIK in mind. The man to replace him is Olivier Ntcham. He is more than capable of replacing Brown in the side.

The rest of the midfield picks itself. It is the strongest area of the side. The likes of Callum McGregor, Ryan Christie, Mikey Johnston and James Forrest could have a field day if they are on form.

Forrest will be looking to score for the sixth game in a row, which is a remarkable statistic.

As for the striking role, it has to be Odsonne Edouard. He is in a terrific run of form, and will be looking to add to his good record against the Tynecastle side.

Here is the team is list form for a match which Celtic will be looking to win, and win well:

GK – Fraser Forster

RB – Kristoffer Ajer

CB – Jozo Simunovic

CB – Christopher Jullien

LB – Boli Bolingoli-Mbombo

CM – Callum McGregor

CM – Olivier Ntcham

RM – James Forrest

CAM – Ryan Christie

LM – Mikey Johnston

ST – Odsonne Edouard
