Celtic head into the first Glasgow derby of the season at Ibrox at the top of the Premiership table. That may only be on goal difference, but it is still a record to defend.
This is arguably the biggest test that the Hoops have faced this season. Rangers are admittedly in good form. However, despite some defensive issues, Celtic really shouldn’t fear travelling to Ibrox.
Forward players should give Hoops confidence
The Hoops have scored 15 goals in three league games this season, that should give Neil Lennon’s side confidence for the fixture.
As for who will start the game for the Hoops, Fraser Forster will return to the starting line-up for his first Glasgow derby appearance since 2012. The game won’t phase Forster, he has seen and done it all in his career.
In defence, should he win his fitness battle, then Krisotffer Ajer will continue at right-back. The centre-back pairing of Nir Bitton and Christopher Jullien will continue, after playing together against AIK. That may seem like a gamble, but Bitton is a big favourite of Neil Lennon.
At left-back, as there is no other option, Boli Bolingoli will start. That will be a huge test for the player, who has had an up and down start to his Hoops career.
Skipper will be looking to make up for poor performances
Onto midfield, the usual pairing of Scott Brown and Callum McGregor will start. Brown will be looking to make up for poor performances in his last two visits to Ibrox.
The attacking side of the team will remain has it has been in recent games. Ryan Christie as the attacking midfielder. The on-form duo of James Forrest and Mikey Johnston on the wings. Up-front – Scotland’s best striker – Odsonne Edouard.
If Celtic are to win the game it could be because of the Hoops’ forward players. They are full of confidence and cam pose Rangers many problems. Should Neil Lennon select the team as predicted, Celtic could win the game.
As ever, here is the team in list form:
