Some Celtic fans were impressed with the performance of left-back Boli Bolingoli-Mbombo in the Champions League tie against Sarajevo.

The recent signing from Rapid Vienna made his home competitive debut in the game, which Celtic won 2-1. Bolingolo played as a left-back. However, he spent a lot of the game pushing forward.

He came close to giving the Hoops the lead with a shot that was saved. He also was unlucky with a shot which went just wide of the post.

Fans on social media were impressed with the player’s performance. One claimed that he was ‘really promising’. Another claimed that Bolingoli would be a good replacement for Kieran Tierney.

A new dawn beckons for Celtic in Europe, as Joe Hart shows his class once again

Here are some of the best reactions from social media to Bolingoli’s performance:

The player seems to like attacking more than defending. That was shown by constant attacking bursts. However, his defending was poor for Sarajevo’s equaliser.

Neil Lennon will no doubt want the player to improve the defensive side of his game. Whilst Kieran Tierney is out, Bolingoli will be the Hoops’ left-back.

Therefore, he will have to improve his defending. Bolingoli is only at the start of his Celtic career. He has plenty of time to improve his performances.

One thing seems certain: it is always going to be interesting when he plays for the Hoops.
