Celtic star Tom Rogic has thrilled supporters with his performance during today’s win away to Motherwell.
Neil Lennon’s Bhoys eased the pressure on themselves with a 4-1 victory at Fir Park, bouncing back from Thursday’s horror show against Sparta Prague.
It was Mohamed Elyounoussi who stole the headlines with a classy hat-trick, but it was old hero Rogic who won the hearts of many fans.
The Australian was in wonderful form again today, just as he has been for a few weeks now.
Now clearly fully fit and finding his match sharpness, his ability on the ball is causing opposition teams all sorts of problems and it’s fantastic to watch.
With slick passing, wonderful assists and the ability to dribble past anyone, he’s at a level above most others in the team right now.
Many had actually written off the Australian international after the club accepted a bid from Qatar for his services.
He hadn’t kicked a ball meaningfully for a while and didn’t seem to have a route back into Lennon’s team.
The 27-year-old didn’t even make it into pre-season plans, missing out on trips to Loughborough and France.
Fortunately, he’s managed to impress on the training ground and subsequently on the pitch.
Right now, he’s the first name on the teamsheet for me.
Hopefully that continues after the international break.
