Celtic’s 0-0 draw with Hibernian on Sunday was an intriguing game. Both sides had passages in the game where they will believe that they should have picked up the three points.
One notable aspect of the game was the performance of Celtic’s midfield duo, Olivier Ntcham and Scott Brown. It is fair to say that the duo didn’t have their best game as a pairing.
Passing was all over the place
Ntcham’s passing in particular was all over the place, and it was no shock to see him replaced by Tom Rogic just after the hour mark.
Interestingly enough, it is the third start in a row that Ntcham has been replaced on the hour mark.
That could reveal that Neil Lennon feels that the player is only capable of playing an hour for the Hoops. If that is the case, perhaps it is better if Ntcham is kept on the bench for a spell.
Not clicking
His partnership with Brown just doesn’t seem to be clicking at the moment. In a way it is understandable that Lennon picked the duo for Easter Road. It was always going to be a tough game.
But it was alarming how easy the Hibs midfield seemed to control the middle of the park. It was a surprise that Lennon didn’t sub Ntcham sooner than he did.
For the time being, it should be Brown and one other in the middle of the park.
