Dundee United are on the brink of selling midfielder Jeando Fuchs to Peterborough United, in what serves as a big blow to Tam Courts’ squad ahead of a trip to Celtic Park.
The BBC report United have agreed on a six-figure fee for the combative midfielder, with a healthy sell-on agreement included.
Ultimately it’s not bad business for the Tannadice side given he has less than six months on his contract, but it’s not the ideal preparation for their journey to Glasgow tomorrow.
Fuchs has been a key performer for Dundee United this season making 23 appearances in total.
He was particularly impressive at Celtic Park in a 1-1 draw in September, so the fact he won’t be in the team tomorrow is a boost to the Bhoys.
After seven games without a win, United are back to victorious ways with two successive wins and are making the trip to Paradise with a bit of confidence.
However, it remains to be seen what impact this sale will have on their team and squad. Fuchs played as recently as Wednesday night’s dramatic win over Ross County.
Celtic are looking strong in the midfield area right now after the addition of Reo Hatate and Matt O’Riley. Both will be expected to start tomorrow and could now have more space to impact the fixture.
