Celtic made it six points from six at Easter Road on Sunday, comfortably beating Hibernian 2-0 to stay top of the Scottish Premiership table.
The Bhoys were truly dominant in the first half, surging to the two-goal lead by the interval thanks to an early goal from Nicolas Kuhn and an absolute stunner from captain Callum McGregor.
The second half was a little more competitive but Celtic were in full control and could have added to their advantage had they taken several chances that fell their way in the final third.
It’s been a strong start to the season and there’s a lot to be positive about. The team look very motivated to impress and pick up points consistently.
After the match, Brendan Rodgers was understandably happy with what he witnessed in Edinburgh.
Brendan Rodgers on Celtic’s victory over Hibs
After the match, he told BBC Radio Scotland: “I’m very content. Easter Road is one of the most difficult places to come in Scottish football to get a result.
“I thought we were very good in the game for large spells. There were moments in the second half where we went too long, too early and didn’t connect the game. That then stretches the game which is not what we were wanting.
“We showed a top winning attitude in the game. We have quality and the quality showed to score two goals. We should’ve had a few more, we needed to be more clinical. It’s a good win for us and a clean sheet.”

Chris Sutton’s verdict on the Bhoys
Co-commentator Chris Sutton, on duty with Sky Sports, gave his view of the match on social media after the match.
He’s adamant that Celtic need another striking option in the squad with Kyogo Furuhashi currently the only viable central attacker available.
The former striker said on X: “Phenomenal first half from Celtic. McGregor’s goal was sensational. Hibs slightly better second half but patience is required with the new manager David Gray. Another centre forward is required immediately for Celtic mind, they can’t keep risking with just Kyogo.”
It’s a fair point considering the striker picked up a couple of knocks across the 90 minutes, including shoulder pain flaring up again. He isn’t expected to miss matches but another forward has to come in soon.
It’s Hibs again for Celtic next week
David Gray’s team won’t relish facing the champions again next weekend, this time travelling to Celtic Park for a knockout Scottish League Cup tie.
The manager and players have made a pointed note they want to go further in the tournament this season after an early exit to Kilmarnock last term. They’ll be fired up to get through to the quarter-finals without issue.
Hibs will have to weather another storm and, with the two teams showing such contrasting form, everyone will fancy Celtic punishing the Edinburgh side again.
