It didn’t take Celtic long to return to winning ways.
Celtic’s performance against Rangers last Thursday has quickly been forgotten about after the latest set of Premiership games on Sunday.
Yes, it was still an unacceptable performance, but the fact of the matter is that Brendan Rodgers’ side are 13 points clear at the top of the table.
That’s aided by Celtic beating St Mirren 3-0, hours after Rangers dropped points at Hibernian, with Nicolas Kuhn netting a brace and Auston Trusty scoring his first goal for the club.
The American has dropped to the bench in recent weeks, including being hooked off at half-time of Celtic’s League Cup final win over Rangers at Hampden last month.
But this was the perfect way for the summer signing to bounce back.
Auston Trusty hails Celtic as an ‘amazing club’ after scoring against St Mirren
Hopefully, this is a much-needed confidence booster for Trusty and he can become a regular starter at the back for the Hoops.
Cameron Carter-Vickers needs a regular partner alongside him, and so far, Trusty and Liam Scales continue to push each other out of the XI.
Nonetheless, after his goal, win and clean sheet over St Mirren, Trusty expressed how proud he was on Instagram.
“First goal for this amazing club🍀,” wrote Trusty. “Proud of the bhoys today with another 3 points. Thank you to all the supporters. TrustyTheProccess.”

Jordan Amissah’s reacts to Trusty’s first goal for Celtic
Trusty joined Celtic in the summer from Sheffield United where he played alongside goalkeeper, Jordan Amissah.
Amissah is now at Ross County – the champions travel to Dingwall next week – and he sent a brilliant message to his former teammate in the comments section of his IG post.
On top of Arne Engels sending a fire emoji to Trusty regarding his goal, Amissah wrote ‘Hell has frozen over’ by adding a brain exploding and laughing emoji to his message.
Others praised and congratulated Trusty for his goal, as well as his performance, with fans delighted by what they saw.
