Celtic attacker Ryan Christie has hailed his team-mates for their goalscoring efforts so far this season. The Hoops have scored 42 goals in 14 competitive games so far this season, and Christie hopes the goals will continue in the Europa League clash against Rennes.
“I think we’re always confident as an attacking threat” he said, in a pre-match press conference on Celtic’s YouTube channel.
“Scoring a high amount”
“I think we’ve definitely got a number of players in the current squad who should make most teams we come up against fearful. We’re scoring a high amount of goals domestically and in the qualifiers, long may that continue.”
It should be remembered going into the game against Rennes that Celtic have scored in every competitive game this season.
That is a record to be proud of after 14 games. Indeed, Christie has been one of the key men when it comes to finding the back of the net this season.
Excellent goalscoring record from midfield
So far, he has scored eight goals this season, which is an excellent record from midfield. Four of those goals so far have come in Europe, which could bode well for Christie’s chances of finding the back of the net in Rennes.
Celtic should not go into the game with any inferiority complex. The team should be confident of winning the game. Rennes might have good players, but so do Celtic.
Christie is one of those good players, and if he is on form Celtic could have a profitable night in France.
