Ryan Christie could well return to the Celtic side for the Europa League clash against Lazio on Thursday night. The attacking midfielder – who has scored a remarkable 11 goals this season – was suspended for the league game against Ross County on Saturday.
However, such has been his importance to the Hoops side this season that it seems inevitable that he will return for such an important game.
Ahead of the game against Lazio, Christie has sent a message to the Serie A side – the Hoops are aiming to win the game.
“We are looking to win”

“I’m really looking forward to it. It’s a brilliant tie for everybody. We are looking to win” he told the Celtic Twitter account.
There is no reason for Celtic to have an inferiority complex about the game. As Christie states, it is a game that the Hoops should be looking to win.
Celtic might not have the best record against Italian sides. They have won only five of 25 games against them. The match against Lazio seems like a good chance to improve on that record though.
Hoops should not fear opponents

Lazio might well have plenty of good players in their squad. However, Celtic should not fear the Italian side. A win would put the Hoops on course for the last 32 of the competition. It is exactly what Christie and his Celtic team-mates should be looking to achieve.
Of course, that does not mean that it won’t be a tough game for the Hoops. They will need to be at their best to win the game. However, it is a match that the team should be looking forward to with excitement. Hopefully Christie’s attitude is shared by his team-mates.
