One of the aspects of Scott Sinclair’s highly successful time at Celtic that might be forgotten about is how many goals he has scored for the Hoops in European qualifiers.

He scored two vital goals in the Champions League play-off against Astana in 2017. Last season he scored against AEK Athens in the Hoops’ failed attempts to reach the group stages of the competition.

A superb finish with a deft back heel

This season he has already found the back of the net for the Hoops in Europe. A very important goal it was too. His deft back heel was a superb finish and secured the Hoops a 3-1 win over Sarajevo in the first qualifying round.

Goals like that have become a trademark of Sinclair’s time at Celtic. Therefore, it is no surprise that Neil Lennon was so keen to extend his Hoops contract.

Didn’t have the best of seasons

Last season might not have been the best of Sinclair’s time at Celtic. Indeed, he lost his place in the starting line-up of the team.

However, he still managed to score double figures in goals. A figure he has achieved in all three of his seasons at Celtic Park so far.

As he enters his fourth season at Celtic, Sinclair is off to a good start. He may well provide more excellent moments in the Hoops’ quest to reach the Champions League in the weeks to come.
